Strategic Research Associate

Position Overview

We are seeking a curious, analytical, and resourceful Strategic Research Associate to support research initiatives for entrepreneurs, nonprofits, community organizations, creatives, and small businesses. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys investigating questions, identifying opportunities, analyzing information, solving problems, and transforming complex information into useful insights.

The Strategic Research Associate will assist with research projects related to funding opportunities, market intelligence, community resources, vendor evaluations, organizational development, business strategy, and other special research assignments. Assignments will vary in scope and complexity, providing exposure to a wide range of industries, organizations, and strategic challenges. This position is project-based and offers flexible scheduling based on client demand and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct online research using public, private, and industry-specific sources

  • Identify grants, funding opportunities, partnerships, and organizational resources

  • Assist with market, industry, and competitor research

  • Research vendors, software platforms, service providers, and business solutions

  • Assist with community asset mapping and stakeholder identification

  • Compile, organize, and summarize research findings

  • Verify information accuracy and source credibility

  • Maintain organized research files and documentation

  • Assist in preparing Strategic Intelligence Reports and research deliverables

  • Track emerging trends, opportunities, and developments relevant to client objectives

  • Support special research assignments and customized investigations

  • Contribute to the development of research databases, resource directories, and internal knowledge systems

  • Participate in strategy discussions and project planning when appropriate

  • Experience in business, nonprofit, community development, public policy, marketing, or related fields is beneficial but not required
